Will Gordillo - Executive Director and Battery Arranger
Will Gordillo has been teaching and arranging for marching bands and indoor drumlines in the West Michigan area for over two decades. This will be Will's 21st year involved in the indoor activity, beginning with his membership at the Phantom Regiment indoor group called the Wheaters, founding Great Lakes Percussion (Michigan's first Independent World percussion line), and co-founding Genesis and G2. Will is proudly sponsored by Evans drumheads, Promark drumsticks, Sabian cymbals, and Mapex and Majestic percussion products. He is also an Evans/Promark and Mapex educator. Will has his BA in history and political science degree from Western Michigan University and an associate’s degree in medical science from Davenport University. Will's responsibilities for the 2019 season will be to overlook Genesis and G2 operations and help out wherever he is needed.
Kyle Morse - Director
A founding staff member of G2 Percussion in 2015, Kyle Morse is returning for his third season as the Director. He began teaching in West Michigan in 2007. Over the past decade, he has assumed a number of different roles working with a wide variety of drumlines in the area. Kyle has been on staff with Genesis Percussion since 2009. He has also worked with Newaygo HS, Hudsonville HS, Rockford HS, DeWitt HS, and Allendale HS, among others. Kyle is currently the Drumline Instructor for the Grand Valley State University Laker Marching Band & Women’s Soccer Drumlines, Director of the Grand Rapids Griffins Drumline, Assistant Director of the Grand Rapids Drive Drumline, and works as School Service Support personnel at Marshall Music Co. in Grandville, MI.
Kyle graduated from Traverse City St. Francis High School in 2004. He marched in the Grand Valley State University Laker Marching Band from 2004-08 before graduating with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Middle East Studies. Kyle aged out of DCI in 2007 with Dutch Boy Drum and Bugle Corps. He also competed in the WGI circuit with Algonac WAVE in 2007 and Great Lakes Percussion in 2008, finishing his competitive marching career with Redline Percussion in 2009. He is currently in his fourth year performing as a bass drummer with the Detroit Lions Drumline.
Kyle has dedicated his professional career to supporting and advocating for music education. Between his work with local drumlines and his job at Marshall Music, he is proud to help provide youth an opportunity to make music and perform in a variety of different settings. Kyle is excited to witness another year of growth for the performing arts in West Michigan, and is looking forward to a great season for the entire Genesis Percussion organization!
Lindsey Schueller - Visual Designer
Lindsey Schueller is a Grand Rapids native who has her Doctor of Audiology degree from Rush University in Chicago, and is an educational audiologist in Berrien Springs, MI. She has been heavily involved in the marching arts activity, performing with ensembles such as Genesis Percussion, Rhythm X, Blue Stars, Bluecoats, and Carolina Crown. She was a founding member of Genesis in 2009, and has served as the visual designer ever since. Lindsey has taught and designed for many high schools in Michigan and around the country. She briefly joined as a visual staff intern at Carolina Crown in 2013, and since has been visual caption supervisor and drill designer for Legends Drum and Bugle Corps. Lindsey will be serving as Drill writer and Visual Designer for Genesis and G2 for the 2019 season!
Front Ensemble Arranger
James Pluth - Front Ensemble Arranger
James is a composer and percussion educator in the Metro-Atlanta area. James holds a B.A. from Jacksonville State University in music, and has many years of experience writing for the marching idiom. He has performed with groups such as The Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps, Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps, and Odyssey Percussion Theatre. As a composer and educator James has worked with many high performance programs around the country over the years which include: Walton HS, Forsyth Central HS, Kennesaw Mountain HS, Lassiter HS, Collins Hill HS, North Gwinnett HS, Alatoona HS, Frequency Percussion, POW Percussion, Atlanta Quest, Q2, G2, and Legends Drum and Bugle Corps. As a designer, James has medaled in both WGI and DCI, and has made finals at every level of the activity many times. James currently serves as Assistant Percussion Director and Music Arranger at Walton HS in Marietta, GA, as well as the Front Ensemble Arranger and Sound Designer at Legends Drum and Bugle Corps. James currently lives in Marrietta, GA where he also works as a composer for film and concert music. James endorses Mapex and Majestic percussion instruments.
Jake Kuklish - Battery Coordinator
Originally from Fishers, Indiana, Jake is now preparing to graduate from Grand Valley State University with a degree in advertising and public relations and a minor in nonprofit administration. Outside of the marching arts, he is currently completing his internship with the Grand Rapids Symphony. Jake’s Marching experience comes at a wide range of levels including groups such as Colt Cadets, Music City Drum Corps, and Phantom Regiment. In addition, he has spent the past four WGI seasons as the snare section leader of Genesis Percussion. Jake also serves as a battery instructor for the Grandville High School Marching Band. This will be his third season working with G2, the previous two as a snare instructor. He is excited to step into this new role with the ensemble and can’t wait to work towards another successful season!
Front Ensemble Coordinator
Cacia Morse - Front Ensemble Coordinator
Cacia Morse has been involved in the competitive marching activity since 2004. She started with Northpointe Christian Drumline from 2004-2010. She also competed with Dutch Boy Drum and Bugle Corps in 2007. Cacia marched in the cymbal line at GVSU in 2012. This will be her ninth year with the Genesis Percussion Organization -- as a member from 2011-2014 and a G2 instructor in 2015, returning in 2016 on staff for both Genesis and G2. She ended her marching career with Redline Percussion in 2015. She has been teaching locally since 2011, working with various high schools and the inaugural year of G2. Cacia graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice, Sociology, and Juvenile Justice.
Rose Bazan - Visual Coordinator
Rose Bazan is from the southwest Michigan area. Her marching experience includes three seasons of GVSU Laker Marching Band, four seasons with Legends Drum and Bugle Corps, and one indoor season with Genesis Percussion. She’s had the pleasure of working with a handful of high schools in the surrounding area from Rockford to Parchment. Outside of high school she’s also been on the educational side with Legends Drum and Bugle Corps, Genesis, and G2 Percussion. Rose is very excited to return to the Genesis & G2 instructional teams!
Bill Gleason - Logistics Coordinator, Snare Technician
Bill is a native of Wyoming, Michigan and has been involved in the marching arts activity since 1987. He has performed with The Coachmen Drum and Bugle Corps from Grand Rapids, MI and The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps from Rosemont, IL. Bill has instructed and arranged locally for Comstock Park, Hudsonville, Mona Shores, South Christian, Delphos Jefferson High School (Ohio), Wyoming High School and is currently instructing Grandville High School. Bill is proudly endorsed by Innovative Percussion and is looking forward to another successful season with G2 and the Genesis family.
Jacob Zelasko - Tenor Technician
Jacob is a Grand Rapids native and a graduate of Grand Valley State University. He has been involved with the GVSU Laker Marching Band for 4 years (2013-2016), Genesis Percussion for 3 (2015-2017), and Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps for 1 (2016). His teaching experience includes working with G2 for its entire history, a season with Genesis Percussion, plus working with several high schools in the area including Forest Hills Northern, Forest Hills Eastern, Hudsonville, Northview, and Reeths-Puffer. Jacob is extremely excited to be returning for his fifth season on staff for G2!
Tara Dickson - Bass Technician
Tara Dickson was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is a recent graduate of Ball State University, where she received a master’s degree in applied behavior analysis. She attended undegrad at Western Michigan University, where she spent two years performing with the WMU drumline. Tara aged out with Genesis Percussion in 2015 as a three-year member of the bassline. She began teaching in 2011, and has worked with multiple schools in the west Michigan area. Tara is recently married, and enjoys spending time with her husband and two cats. She currently works at an autism center in Kalamazoo. Tara is looking forward to returning for her third year with G2!
Jodi VanWagnen - Bass Technician
Jodi is a Michigan native. She is preparing to graduate with a degree in photography from Grand Valley State University, where she also performed three seasons on the drumline. She has been a member of the Genesis bassline for the past 4 seasons. In addition, Jodi has taught alongside several high schools in the west Michigan area including Mona Shores, Hudsonville, and Reeths-Puffer. She just completed her first season on visual staff with Legends Drum and Bugle Corps. 2019 will mark her first season working alongside visual staff at Genesis. Jodi returns in 2019 for her fourth season on staff with G2.
Carla Mendoza - Cymbal Technician
Carla started her marching career as a percussionist at Godwin Heights High School where she graduated in 2013. She then continued that career with Genesis Percussion in 2014. She later went on to march with Legends Drum & Bugle Corps in the years 2014 and 2015 and then with North Coast Academy in 2015. She also recently aged out with a percussion group in San Antonio, Texas called 5points Percussion in 2017. Carla is now a full time student in college pursuing a career in criminal justice. Carla has worked with G2 in the past and is excited and ready to be back as G2’s cymbal tech!
Emily Thomas - Cymbal Technician
Emily is a graduate from Linden High School. She recently aged out of Legends Drum Corps. She started as a cymbal player in 2014 and was the drum major for the 2017 and 2018 season. Additionally, she had competed in WGI with the Legends Winter Percussion in 2015 as a cymbal player. She is also the Head Director at Impact Percussion.
Caleb Wells - Visual Technician
Caleb Wells is a Grand Rapids native. Caleb’s marching experience includes Medley Winterguard, Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, Interplay A as well as Interplay World Winter Guard, and is currently marching Onyx World Winter Guard. Caleb has had the pleasure to teach both fall and winter ensemble Including Comstock Public Schools, Kenowa Hills Public Schools, Godwin Heights Public Schools, most recently holding positions as a movement choreographer with G2 during the 2018 season and is currently a color guard tech at Grandville High School. Outside of teaching Caleb is currently a full time student at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids Michigan. He is Fashion Studies major with a focus in costume design. Caleb is excited and honored to be able to return for a second season with G2 during the 2019 season as a visual tech.
Front Ensemble Technician
Nick Bessey - Front Ensemble Technician
Nick Bessey has been a member of the Genesis front ensemble since 2015 and he is excited to be getting ready for the 2019 season. Nick performed in the front ensemble for Legends Drum and Bugle Corps this past summer. He has helped instruct front ensembles for high schools around West Michigan including Grandville and Comstock Park. He will be returning for his second season with G2.

Troy Robertson - Front Ensemble Technician
Troy Robertson has been involved in 13 seasons of marching as a performer: 6 at Portage Northern HS, 5 at Western Michigan University, and 2 with Genesis Percussion (16-‘17). He has taught for 3 seasons each at Fennville Public Schools and Howell Public Schools. Troy returns in 2019 for his second season on staff with G2.
Josh King - Electronics Specialist
Josh is very excited to be spending his first full season with G2! He began his teaching career in 2005. He has spent the last 14 seasons with Belding HS, and has worked with various other high schools throughout the years, including Kent City, Hudsonville, Grant and several others. He attended Grand Rapids Community College, majoring in music education. Josh was an inaugural member of the Grand Rapids Griffins Drumline. He currently works as an IT Director for a West Michigan grocery retailer.
